Amazon ruined Whole Foods. Want to eat evil food? Read Matthew 21:12. if Jesus were here, he would be flipping tables. Suspicions aside, let’s look at some criticisms. (See photo) Mid after noon middle of the day, hardly any prepared food. Maybe there is no market for it? Or maybe it’s because the food there looks about as appetizing as a frozen tv kids meal from 1995. Chicken tinders, mashed potatoes… kids food. This prepared food section used to feature local farm fresh salads and was part of an effort to promote better eating. Whole Foods also used to feature cycling cultural cuisine options to share different food recipes from all over the world. Now it’s only what makes money, might as well get some frozen food microwaved at a local pub. What happened to Whole Foods since Amazon? Strange shopping carts and hand scanners. It’s not about “whole food” and more, it’s capitalized over-marketed expensive schemes to sell you what makes Amazon, the most profit. The employees, customers, or local growers, are not benefiting from these changes. You’re supporting the destruction of local business. “Amazon Foods” is not the same store as “Whole foods” no matter what label they slap on it, it’s a trap and a lie. You are being fooled. The entrance says celebrating since 1980, that’s a lie. Amazon foods is not even close the the same place as it was between 1980 and 2018. Stop eating here and your spirit will thank you later.

Eight months later, zero progression towards a mean. Dinner hour on a Tuesday and more and more lights turned off. The prepared goods section is practically storage space these days. Even the registers cease to be staffed in favor of 20-25 people to do your grocery shopping for you. The once well-earned reputation as the best around is now a vestage of hollow elitism. The only thing they sell any more is the brand and the feeling of fitting in. And youre paying a premium for it.

This store is so well stocked. The atmosphere of "look around, get what you need", and most of the employees are human. I can't get over the selection and the sales throughout the store. Yes, yes enjoy the visits there.

The bakery used to be wonderful. My wife and I actually had custom Berry Chantilly center pieces for our wedding made here. Now, after the Amazon buyout, the bakery ships in frozen EVERYTHING. They just changed vendors for their pies which Is why I’m writing this review. Chocolate Silk tasted weird, had a strange mouthfeel and now I have a lingering sour aftertaste. Looked at the ingredients and it’s got palm and canola oil in it. Turns out the aftertaste is palm oil as I’ve tasted and dropped other brands with it before. It’s cheap but strangely those savings aren’t passed on to the consumer… Natural Grocers is right across the street and since the bakery and hot food sections have gone so downhill there’s no reason to shop Whole Foods, especially since the ethos has been replaced with dollars signs. Also hand print scanning for payment at the case register? Yuck.

I love whole foods because they have superior quality to most chain super markets. The dessert selection is second to none. Fish, meats, fresh fruits and vegetables this is your place. It does cost more however. Some staples are better gotten at a regular grocery like detergent and toothpaste brands you have long been loyal to. That is the downfall. Its not one stop shopping for most of us.

We look forward to seeing you again soon, Alex. Thank you for the four stars.

Used Dash Cart for the first time. It was very easy and convenient. Cart also has weight sensor and taking off an item was easy.

Owner's response · 1 year ago

We’re happy to hear that, Jayesh! Please stop by anytime.

Whole Foods sells a variety of seafood and the store rotates which ones go on sale. The store also carries products that can be hard to find at other grocery markets: such as different gluten-free products (everything from frozen dumplings and egg rolls to condiments and snacks), goat’s milk, and goat milk butter. The employees are friendly. The place is clean. The bathroom is clean and sanitary. And I can return Amazon.com products there. How convenient.

We're glad to hear that you're pleased with our store, Lily. Thanks for the review!

I ordered a simple pepperoni pizza and it was terrible. The pizzas are not what they used to be, the dough was too much, too thick and tasteless. It was also burnt! I can’t believe who ever cooked it thought it was ok or up to Whole Foods standards to give out a burnt pizza.

Horrible self-scan shopping experience. Amazon couldn't use the credit cards I already have on file, and use weekly... AND this initiated a fraud alert and locked up my bank account. I then had to, after already bagging and scanning my own groceries the entire time, had to go get checked out anyway, had two of my bank cards declined and had to use another credit card. The guy who helped me was awesome. As was the girl doing the cart demos. WF has some cool food options, meat dept is on point. Lots of weird compromises. Oh, and I was almost hit by an SUV while exiting the store. The customers mostly suck. Meh. I'll keep going for the Amazon counter.
