Pet Supplies Plus Wheat Ridge

To be fair, I thought a lot about why three stars for this store. The number one reason is consistency - or lack thereof. I’ve been here at times when they had a good inventory of what I was looking for and pleasant, helpful staff. But, unfortunately, my most recent trip was more typical. No stock of the regular dog food I buy coupled with having to search down staff to ask. My search was met with blank stares and that I would have to wait to talk to someone else who also could not help. My frustration is further compounded by the fact that I frequently receive emails promoting great discounts. What good is a discount when they don’t have what you want in stock. As a matter of fact, there is an interesting coincidence between getting a discount coupon and not have the pet food in stock. In the final analysis going to Pet Supplies Plus in Wheat Ridge is “luck-of-the-draw”. Sometimes you’ll get great service and find good product. Other times - not so much.

I am appalled by the horrible condition these betta fish are kept in. The water doesn’t look like it has ever been changed. Many fish looked in distress and one was even DEAD. Do not sell fish if you won’t give them proper care!

Everyone here is very helpful and considerate! It seems like they take good care of all the animals. There's a self-wash grooming station in the back that is gated off and very clean, although I wish they had better grooming brushes available. We got our pup's nails trimmed after bathing and everything went smoothly - they were very gentle and patient with our rescue pup. Bonus: they sell crickets :) for those with non-furry pets

Reese did an amazing job grooming my dog. Best grooming he's ever had.

The folks that work here are the best. Always kind and quick to help even on busy days. Their groomer and self wash bath center helps me look forward to taking care of my dog instead of begrudging it!

I was in the store on 6/26/23 a young man was playing with a ball by the back office he had seen me and the had his back turned I stood waiting to pay for 5 minutes ( I stood facing the office waiting to see if I could get his or anyone’s attention) while he played at the back office talking to someone. At one point the ball got away and he got it and went right back to chatting and playing with the ball. I finally put the cat food on the counter and walked out the door. I will not be back PetSmart and Petco are eager to serve me I just wanted to give business to locally owned, but not if I have to chase down an employee that doesn’t want to wait on me

This place is awesome. PetSmart & PETCO are awful. Pet Supplies Plus, has much lower prices than those, MUCH more variety and at least at this this location, the staff are awesome, knowledgeable, helpful and personable.

Walked right in was able to get my dog's nails trimmed, great staff, nails look great!! For now on this is my go to, far beyond exceeds those "other" places, thank you!!! I'll definitely be back!

The staff here is great! Marco was amazing as always. He always had the answers we need and is willing to go the extra mile to make sure we have what we need. Wish your dog food wasn't more expensive than at other places though.

I love Pet Supplies Plus. My dog gets groomed by Sarah and does a spectacular job. She handles my girl with so much care.
