Generally, I think habitat for humanity is a great organization. I came today to buy a couch and a dresser. I told them that I be picking up my items today. They agreed to that. I return today on 6.13.23 arrived here after an hour to get a U-Haul to retrieve my own things. There was no sign on the door. Just the door is locked with the lights on. The police came by. They're not sure what's going on. Then as we're sitting outside waiting to see if maybe they were on lunch. Someone goes and puts a sign over the hours that states that all habitat for humanities would be closed. I'm super offended because I spent extra money to rent a U-Haul to pick up my item that would have taken me an hour to get together. And now I'm going to be out 50 bucks extra which isn't even the equivalent of how much I paid for my items today. I'm very disappointed.

Ky we apologize for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, we experienced an emergency situation today that forced us to close down all of the store as quickly as possible. Our staff's safety is our number one priority and at the time we made the call to get them from the building as quickly as possible. At the time this meant leaving lights on and not putting up messaging. Thank you for your understanding.

They definitely want way too much for the "newer" items. Whoever is pricing these items will need to review the comps first. But their selection of used items has been diminishing, needs more donations!

Owner's response · 1 year ago

Jessica, thanks for getting the word out as we always need more donations. The "newer" items you reference are just that, new merchandise that we acquire from various sources. We do our best to price these at 30% or lower than the current retail price. Thanks for your support and we hope to see you at our Red Ho BBB t Summer Sale on July 15th

Donated cabinets to them a couple times you're probably better off just having someone come pick them up they don't make this easy I spent at least two to three hours of my time going out of my way to try to donate cabinets to them this does not include my gas not happy I won't me doing this again?

Owner's response · more than 10 months ago

William, thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately you arrived before our donation dock was open for the day. Our staff were busy unloading a semi of product that had to be unloaded (we are charged more from the carrier the longer the driver has to wait for us to unload) and processed before the store was open. We are always happy to accept donation during regular dock hours when we have the staff and resources available. Store and dock hours can be found here https://habitatmetrodenver.org/restore/

Ive been shopping regularly at this location, for 5 years. I have purchased a lot for my home when i couldnt afford it at new box stores. Well now i still browse occansionally but do all my purchasing at new box stores because they are less expensive when on a budget based on salary. It makes a huge difference. Then they reorgsnized the store and move everything around, and it went downhill. I recently called them out on a cabinet that was new but from home depot. For some reason home depot was half the cost of restore. The store clerk becane defensive instead. It wont stop me from donating myself though. Its still better than throwing it away.

Hello Colin, thanks for the honest feedback and also for shopping and donating to us. Pricing can be tough and often we will have new or like new products that are similar in cost to the big box retailers. At times it is hard for us to compete with these loss leader deals (big box offers it up at a loss because they know the buyer will purchase other products to make up for the loss). That being said we do our best to provide a lot of options at different price points. We appreciate you and your support.

So the store is fine. The bathroom is absolutely disgusting. There was two tolls of toilet paper. One open on the floor and one sitting open on top of the trashcan. None in the dispenser. For guys who just have to pee that's probably not an issue. Women is another story. Zero paper towels to dry your hands in the dispenser or open the door. I can't stand when a store does not take care of their customers with simple hygiene. Not cool. It's the second time I've been to this location and both times it was gross. Staff is friendly. Prices are ok.

Best place in the Denver area to find hidden gems at excellent prices. The staff is kind and great to work with. The store is always clean and well-curated. I’ve purchased great finds here and also donated, both experiences have been enjoyable. My favorite purchase has been a pink velvet joybird couch, brand new, for $100!!!

EXCELLENT store. Clean, well lit, and organized. I was shocked by the pricing and array of items available. Everything from a good used wall receptacle to brand new flooring lots, amazing selection!

Owner's response · 2 years ago

Thanks Tory! Check back with us frequently as we are always getting in new and used product.

Pretty solid place. Have been here a few times and picked up a bunch of brushed nickel fixtures that work great! Some of the stuff isn't that big a discount IMO (like door handles for some reason) but overall, most things are way below what you'd pay in a retail store. Easy to navigate and great value!

My purpose here was to make a donation. I did walk through the store to see if there was anything I could not live without. The store is immaculate and well organized. They have a great selection of lighting and plumbing fixtures. The staff is very friendly.

I visit the store at least once a week. The staff is very nice and the store is organized and clean. Ken is very helpful. I do wish that they had a larger location in Aurora so that the inventory could be larger. I purchase old furniture to make art projects from. I receive coupons online but the expiration date is so short that every time I go to use it it has expired.
